2,438-hp Nissan GT-R claims new 1/4-mile record
A monstrous Nissan GT-R with mind-boggling power of 2,438 horsepower (1,793 kilowatts) has recorded a quarter-mile run in 7.3 seconds.
The vehicle you see in the attached images was prepared by T1 Race Development and uses many parts the tuning shop developed itself. The engine is running with its stock block but features several custom parts.
T1 Race Development says the goal from the beginning of the development process was to create a car to set new records. And they achieved this by registering a record 7.38-second run on the quarter-mile distance at 195 miles per hour (314 kilometers per hour). This result is around 0.1 seconds faster than the previous record that belongs to Alpha Omega GT-R.
Back to the R35 GT-R of T1, it also managed to hit 235 mph (378 km/h) in half a mile, which also represents a world record, according to the company. The tuners say the car serves mainly as a test mule for product development and the specialists are permanently pushing this platform to new levels. Despite its gigantic power and heavy modifications, the cars is road-legal. |
