天朝怎么就没有这样让人信服的法律?!
Smoking in cars carrying children will be banned in UK starting October 1
Starting next month, UK authorities will apply a smoke ban for cars carrying kids.
The new law has been elaborated as a way to protect minors from inhaling the very damaging secondhand tobacco smoke and it will be applicable all over the country and refers to any type of "private vehicle that is enclosed wholly or partly by a roof." Starting October 1, anyone who gets caught smoking inside a car where there are people under the age of 18 will be liable to pay a £50 fine.
Interestingly, the driver is obliged to stop a passenger from smoking and if he fails to do so and gets caught, the driver will receive a fine as well even though he wasn't the one smoking. The law is still applied if the car has the windows and/or sunroof open and also when the person smoking sits near the car's opened door. On the other hand, it will still be legal to smoke in a car where there's a child as long as it's a convertible and the roof is down.
As a final note, the new rule instated by UK authorities does not apply to e-cigarettes. |
