865hp RennTech SL65 AMG Black Series also boasts 1000lb-ft of torque

Over the past decade or so, the word power, Mercedes and AMG have almost been synonymous with each other. The power outputs of modern Benzes can be described as extravagant, in fact current high-powered three -pointers are known to spend more time burning rubber than making traction, and it doesn’t look like its about to let up anytime soon.

The Mercedes SL65 AMG Black Series is already a very powerful machine, in stock form it churns out 661hp and 738lb-ft of torque. Now at the mercy of legendary Mercedes tuner Renntech, the car has been totally transformed and now puts out a whopping 865hp and 1000lb-ft of torque (!!) That’s 135hp more and 263lb-ft more torque than the standard model, and just for the record, it has 5 more horses than the only other tuned SL65 Black Series – the Brabus Vanish.

Providing all that power is a ECU revision, upgraded intercooler pumps and sports mufflers all in a package that starts at US$16,390. However the package does not include the necessary transmission upgrade and LSD that you’ll want to go along with it.
