Police cars have a tendency to be pretty dull but Renault Sport is spicing things up by showcasing the R.S. 01 Interceptor.
Based on the company's latest race car, the R.S. 01 Interceptor is a hardcore cop car that features a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and a biturbo 3.8-liter V6 engine that produces more than 500 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. Thanks to the lightweight construction and the high-performance engine, the R.S. 01 can hit a top speed in excess of 186 mph.
Since the model was envisioned for police duty, it was been equipped with LED emergency lights, a tri-color police livery, and Interceptor Highway Patrol badging on the doors. The model also has a massive rear wing with a digital message board that enables the driver to communicate with other motorists.
Those unfortunate enough to get pulled over by the R.S. 01 Interceptor are out of luck as former World Rally Championship driver Jean Ragnotti isn't about to take any passengers.
