多辆运动车型参展
The theme of the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed: 'Addicted to Winning – The Unbeatable Champions of Motor Sport' is well matched to PEUGEOT, driven by its brand signature ‘Motion & Emotion’. The Brand is aiming to reach new heights in the year that it celebrates 125-years of automotive achievement. PEUGEOT has a number of static and dynamic attractions at this year’s event, with an exciting visitor participation activity and an exceptional vehicle / driver combination capable of challenging the Goodwood Hillclimb record.
Great displays best viewed from the PEUGEOT stand
On the PEUGEOT stand, again situated in line with the main GoodwoodBridge and by the Cricket Pitch, visitors can literally reach new heights with the ‘PEUGEOT Gravity Drop’ that will give a panoramic view of Goodwood from 40 feet up. This thrilling ride experience will be charged with excitement as it rises and descends to ground-level.
On the contemporary styled PEUGEOT display stand will sit an impressive collection of new vehicle designs. Primary among its many interesting display vehicles is the Exalt Concept Car; just back from making its debut at the Beijing Motor Show, this is the latest model from PEUGEOT and illustrates a forward-looking appearance and hybrid technology, combining the highly-efficient 270bhp 1.6-litre petrol engine from the RCZ R with a 70bhp electric motor to produce a combined 340bhp vehicle.
Another car of interest is the 308 R Concept – a vision of a possible extreme sports hatchback model from the 2014 ‘European Car of the Year’, that is also powered by the awesome 270bhp 1.6-litre engine from the RCZ R. It is distinguished like the Exalt Concept Car by its ‘coupe franche’ (a clean cut line) design separating the bright red body paintwork from its dark grey rear bodywork.
Best of both worlds – the 208 HYbrid FE Concept is also on display. Combining Fun with Economy (hence FE) it is a micro-hybrid car capable of low fuel consumption (Combined Drive Cycle of 112mpg) and CO2 at just 46g/km, yet it can accelerate with GTi-like performance to 62mph in just 8.0seconds.
Moving Motor Show – Thursday, 26th June
Three types of PEUGEOT car are available for assessment at the Goodwood Moving Motor Show this year. The RCZ R Sports Coupé, that had its debut at Goodwood last year, will allow visitors to drive this stylish car with one of the most powerful engines for its size up the infamous Goodwood Hillclimb. The Torsen differential will assure the driver of the grip and power deployed for supreme handling and performance. Also available for assessment is another impressive PEUGEOT vehicle - the new 308 (2014 European Car of the Year) is presented with the new PureTech 1.2-litre Turbo e-THP 130, which is an all-new highly-efficient compact petrol engine, capable of being both powerful and economical. The very latest new car is the 108 Top! Cabrio – a compact car with a stylish and big personality that can be personalised with a number of themed treatments. It has a high level of trim specification and new technological features, like the ‘Mirror Screen’ for smartphone connectivity.
PEUGEOT and Sébastien Loeb take on the infamous Goodwood Festival of Speed Hillclimb
The greatest head-tuning moment at this year’s Festival of Speed is expected to be Sébastien Loeb reacquainting himself with a unique return drive and attempt on the famous Goodwood Hillclimb in the awesome 875bhp / 875kg (1:1 power-to-weight ratio) PEUGEOT 208 T16 Pikes Peak car – this time tuned for sea-level, not the 14,000ft altitude of the Colorado finish line.
Sébastien’s drive in the 208 T16 has been granted with the kind permission of Citroën Racing, who also has him driving one of its cars at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The Hillclimb is the Festival of Speed’s principal attraction and the fastest time up the 1.16-mile course is 41.6 seconds, set by Nick Heidfeld in the McLaren MP4-13 in 1999.
Goodwood Festival of Speed Hillclimb
Taking place throughout the weekend, this challenging white-knuckled course starts as a tree-lined run through the southern corner of the Goodwood Estate which then turns to sweep past the front of Goodwood House before climbing a steep and narrow Estate road bordered by flint walls and dense woodland groves towards Goodwood’s equine racecourse on top of the magnificent South Downs. The course rises 300ft from the start line to the finish and is very technical and challenging, putting the skills of the world’s very best drivers and riders to the ultimate test of concentration and speed.
Cartier ‘Style et Luxe’ concours d’elegance
Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 2004, the PEUGEOT 907 V12 Concept Coupé is a powerful GT Supercar displayed at the Goodwood Cartier ‘Style et Luxe’ concours d’elegance. The 907 was PEUGEOT’s view of the ultimate GT car, powered by a 500bhp 6.0-litre V12 engine, it features a carbon fibre body boasting an interior that is functional yet oozes genuine class. With the 907, PEUGEOT’s stylists created a traditional yet modern interpretation of the ultimate Grand Touring Supercar. |
