According to a recent report, Honda is developing a new NSX to replace the stillborn model that was axed in 2008.
Details are limited, but Motor Trend is reporting the NSX will ride a modified Accord platform which has been swapped front to rear. This will allow the company to save on development costs, one of the key problems that plagued the cancelled project.
Power is expected to come from a hybridized 3.5-liter V6 engine with upwards of 400 hp (298 kW / 406 PS). It will be paired to a manual transmission and a rear-biased SH-AWD (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive) system.
Production hasn't been green-lighted, but if approved, a launch could come as early as 2014. |
