Production Peugeot 208 sets fuel consumption record with 2.0 l/100 km

Peugeot has announced the 208 equipped with a BlueHDI diesel engine has set a new long-distance fuel consumption record.

A 1,337.19-mile (2,152 km) distance was covered with 9.45 gallons (43 liters) of diesel, which translates into an average fuel consumption of 141.2 mpg (2.0 l/100km). The French company says this record “confirms the technological excellence of the latest Euro6 BlueHDi Diesel engines and their contribution to the reduction of CO2 emissions”.

This performance was achieved at the end of April on a test circuit at Belchamp, France, and was supervised by the French Type Approval Authority, UTAC. The machine used was “a strictly standard” production 208 with a 1.6-litre BlueHDi 100 S&S engine, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The car ran for 38 hours and several drivers were used to arrive at this result, each taking a turn of 3 to 4 hours at the wheel.

不过应该强制他们烧烧两桶油的油，能跑出1000km估计就不错了，说不定直接趴窝

我的凯旋从上海开到江西共青城再开回上海，一箱油跑了1050公里还剩2小格，加满后跑到上海还剩5分之2，
其中有在某休息站开着空调睡了2小时
